Barefoot’s Drink of the Week: Balsamic Martini

by Pete T Posted February 16th, 2012

It may sound more like a salad than a tropical cocktail. . Here’s how to make it and enjoy it at home:

BALSAMIC MARTINI
1 ½ oz (6counts) Vanilla Rum
¾ oz (3counts) Simple Syrup
½ oz (2counts) Strawberry Puree
3 Small Strawberries
4 lime wedges
12-15 Dashes of Aged Balsamic Vinegar
1 Spaghetti Squash
Balsamic Glaze

PREPARATION:
Take three strawberries, make sure they are nicely washed and the stem is removed. Place them in the mixing glass and add a lime wedge and the ¾ oz of simple syrup, 12/15 dashes of Balsamic Vinegar and ½ oz of the home made simple syrup and start muddling. The muddling process is done while you are pressing the lime so the unique flavor of the essential oil, contained in the skin, comes out. Add 1 ½ oz and it is time to fill the shaker with ice. Then, pour the mix into the shaker and start shaking! Strain into a balsamic glaze drizzled martini glass.

Barefoot’s Drink of the Week: Patriots Cocktail

by Pete T Posted February 2nd, 2012

The Super Bowl has become one of the biggest game days of the year. No matter if you like football or not or are a fan of either team, there is something captivating about this big event and it’s a great excuse for a fantastic party.

This Sunday millions of Americans will be crowded in living rooms to watch the biggest football game of the year and those over-priced, well-produced ads that go with it. In preparation, here are some suggestions for planning your

A London dry gin and apricot brandy combine in the Boston Cocktail for a delightful little drink. The herbal aspects of the gin shine against the fruity sweetness of the brandy and grenadine, while the lemon balances everything out with a bit of tart. The finished flavor is a little more on the sweet side than some people may enjoy. On the other hand, if you are one of the drinkers with a little bit of sweet tooth, this is a great gin cocktail to try because it is a nice middle ground drink.

Ingredients:

•1 1/2 ounce London dry gin
•1 1/2 ounce apricot brandy
•1/4 ounce grenadine
•juice of 1/2 a lemon

Preparation:

1.Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
2.Shake well.
3.Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Punxsutawney Phil Isn’t Always Right . 20% off ALL Barefoot Bars Apparel

by Pete T Posted February 2nd, 2012

Nearly five thousand revelers hoping for an early spring were disappointed today after Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.
But those winter jackets may be able to go in the closet sooner than the forecasting groundhog has to say.

It turns out the ultimate prognosticator- and his copycat counterparts- are wrong more often than they are right.

The well-fed, revered groundhog also has a penchant for seeing his shadow. Ever since the tradition began in 1887, Phil (and his ancestors) saw their shadows 99 times, while predicting an early spring only 16 times. There was no record for nine of the years.
